The Myrna Loy Grants to Artists program is part of a 42-year tradition of supporting local and regional artists in numerous ways. It is one of the few programs in the region to provide funding directly to individual artists, and has supported art projects large and small. It has helped launch and support the careers of visual, ceramic, music, performing and literary artists throughout the region.
The Myrna Loy’s Jailhouse plays a vibrant role in the Helena art scene, and supports local artists of note. The Myrna Loy is looking for a volunteer who has the skills and interest to assist in the Jailhouse Gallery. Tasks include:
Must have an interest in promoting local and regional artists, plus knowledge of and interest in contemporary regional art. With this volunteer position comes a good deal of responsibility. Applicants must understand the Gallery Manager is responsible for a critical portion of the Myrna Loy and its visual presentation to patrons. The Jailhouse Galley is almost fully booked through the 2018 calendar year. Our current (and fabulous) Gallery Manager is looking to retire from the position in 2019. Until then, she will be available to train and assist the new Manager.
