Around the world in 90 minutes, no bags lost. Banjo innovator Jayme Stone returns with a whole new take on world music. Stone’s Lomax Project gives songs collected by folklorist and field recording pioneer Alan Lomax a fresh vocabulary. They re-boot Bahamian sea chanties, African-American a cappella singing from the Georgia Sea Islands, ancient Appalachian ballads, fiddle tunes, and work songs from sea captains, cowhands, fishermen, prisoners, and homemakers.
Their last performance here sold out, so get your tickets early for this pure-joy performance.
